If you are like me, then you downloaded and installed the new Tweetdeck after Twitter took over. If you are also like me, then you have found that you hate it. For some reason, Twitter felt the need to take a great product and trash it.
#social media
I read a lot about social media best practices.
A lot. Probably more than I should.
One of the key messages is that you should be self-effacing or humble. Spend time promoting others just because they are worth the praise and not because you expect anything in return.
I recently read an article on Baekdal.com, authored by Thomas Baekdal, about launching social media profiles that was spot on. Many companies start a page with nothing or little on it, which is much like opening a store without anything in it. Of course no one is interested in staying or connecting when there is nothing to see.
I’ve tried to reach out to The CW several times via Twitter asking about things such as show times and why your website is down. Not once I have received a reply. Apparently, you use your Twitter account just for broadcasting and not communicating, listening or interacting with us – your viewers.
Two stories.
Story One. I was walking around a mall recently when I decided to check-in on Foursquare. To my glee, American Eagle was having a Foursquare special. For checking in, I qualified for 15% off my entire purchase.
